DescriptionThe Foundation’s mission is to perpetuate the tradition of the caring doctor by emphasizing the importance of the relationship between the practitioner and the patient. The Foundation provides financial support for programs and projects that encourage compassionate and relationship-centered healthcare. The Foundation partners with medical schools and teaching hospitals to infuse humanism into medical training from the first day of medical school to the last day of residency. Program strategies include: setting expectations; instilling values, recognizing excellence; promoting role models, providing life-changing experiences; understanding the patient perspective, support for curricula development; and research.
