Mockingbird Foundation
Category: Music
DescriptionThe Foundation, a philanthropic group organized around the rock group, Phish, supports three areas: music, education, and children. The Foundation prefers projects that encourage creative expression in all musical forms. Of particular interest are those that stress composition, instrumentation, vocalization, and improvisation. Funds may be used for instruments; texts; office materials; learning, practice, and performance space; and teachers. Funding preference is given to programs that benefit disenfranchised groups, including those with low skill levels, income, education, those with disabilities or terminal illness, and those in foster care homes, hospitals, and prisons. The Foundation will consider projects which benefit college students, teachers, instructors, or adult students. Applicants are asked to submit an online letter of inquiry.
