Description

The Foundation, established in 1951, seeks to promote the scholastic development of children and youth by improving elementary and secondary education. It strives to meet its goal through support to charter and parochial schools. The Trustees believe in the values afforded by a traditional academic curriculum. They believe that optimum academic and intellectual development will be achieved through a common curriculum of content-rich material that will ensure that all students acquire a uniform base of knowledge. The Foundation currently awards grants for educational programs in four main areas: development of new charter and independent faith-based K-12 schools; expansion of existing, high-performing charter management organizations and diocesan schools; professional development; and school capital projects. The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry from organizations that meet its interests. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
