Description

The Foundation supports organizations that assist people who are disempowered to live their lives with dignity, security, and opportunity. Particular interest is given to programs that promote peace, education, and well being, both locally and around the world. Through the Foundation’s work it seeks to demonstrate concern for the environment and respect for cultures and people of different backgrounds. Priority is given to programs and projects addressing the environment and conservation, Jewish and Israel, and refugees and displaced persons. Environment and conservation grants focus on work that preserves native and biologically diverse environments and those that promote a balanced relationship between local peoples and natural areas. With its Jewish and Israel grants, the Foundation is interested in promoting peace in Israel and preserving a homeland for Jews. Jewish and Israel grants also seek to combat hate and bigotry against Jews and all peoples, by promoting pluralism around the globe. Grants in the refugees and displaced persons category support programs that improve the lives of refugees/displaced people as well as efforts that promote improvements in refugee policy and practice with an emphasis on livelihoods, psychosocial support, education and training, and leadership development. Organizations that address the Foundation’s priority areas may submit brief letters of inquiry from February through April of each year. Additional information, including an online application, can be found on the Web site.
