DescriptionThe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the insurance Company. Through its giving, the Company strives to support its communities in Washington and Oregon with grants, sponsorships, and employee engagement opportunities. The Foundation’s priorities are educating low-income children, strengthening cultural treasures, protecting the most fragile, and uplifting those most often left out or left behind. Grantmaking focuses on education and broad-based health and human services. The Foundation also invests in access to health care for low-income individuals, people with disabilities, and cultural organizations. Priority is given to nonprofits with solid financials; clearly articulated systems for measuring impact; a strong board and staff; and thoughtful strategic plans and budgets. The Foundation awards general operating support, program support, capital funding, and sponsorship. Grant applications are submitted online and are reviewed every six weeks.
