Arthur L. And Elaine V. Johnson Foundation

Category

: General

Description

The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on projects and programs, which provide for the care, benefit, support, and preservation of German shepherd seeing-eye dogs or other animals trained to assist sight-impaired or otherwise handicapped individuals. The Foundation also supports organizations that provide for the preservation, care, and benefit of wildlife, and the world’s natural resources. The Foundation desires to be a catalyst for change and prefers to fund projects that will assist an organization in a long-term change, such as expanding capacity or undertaking a new area of service. Organizations providing service animals at no cost to sight-impaired or otherwise physically handicapped individuals are generally given priority in funding over those that require a significant fee. The Foundation does not generally provide funding for animal sanctuaries that are not focused on wildlife rehabilitation or release. Requests focused primarily on environmental/conservation education are not typically funded. Additional information including an online application form can be found on the Web site.
