DescriptionThe Foundation is dedicated to the protection, education, and development of children and youth. Grants are awarded to programs that work toward ensuring that all children grow up in caring families, learn in vibrant and effective schools, and have opportunities to become productive members of their communities. Areas of interest are vulnerable youth in the child welfare system and education. In the child welfare category, programs and projects that address safety, permanency, well-being, educational opportunities, and youth, family, and community engagement are of particular interest. Education grants focus on informed public policy, creating an exemplary network of schools and districts, dynamic leadership, excellent teaching, and engaged youth. The Foundation targets its grantmaking on programs and organizations located in the states of California and Washington. Letters of inquiry are requested.
