Description

The Fund, a component of the Kenney Brothers Foundation, focuses its grantmaking on the protection and restoration of watersheds in the Western United States. The Fund’s priority is to keep Western river flowing with abundant volumes of clean water. The Fund makes grants through its discretionary grant process. Discretionary grants are given to projects that provide a real opportunity to change Western water policy on a local, state, or national level. Other funding topics include defending environmental laws critical for the protection of all Western rivers; focusing on a specific strategy for the protection of a biologically important Western watershed; and researching and analyzing issues that affect Western water. Grants will be made for general support, specific projects, and to encourage policy research and analysis. Potential applicants are asked to send an e-mail inquiry with “Discretionary Grant Inquiry” in the subject line. Inquiry e-mails are accepted at any time, but grants are typically made only twice a year in June and December. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
