Description

The Bank’s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative, recognizes, nurtures, and rewards community organizations, local heroes, and student leaders who are helping their neighborhoods achieve excellence. The June deadline is for the Neighborhood Builders and Local Heroes programs. Neighborhood Builders provides $200,000 in core operating support and leadership training over two years to two nonprofits working in each eligible community to promote vibrant neighborhoods. The program seeks organizations whose focus closely reflects local neighborhood priorities. Local Heroes grants recognize and honor five heroes per year in each of the selected communities whose achievements and leadership on local issues contribute significantly to the vitality of the neighborhood. Recipients of the Local Heroes grants will be able to direct a $5,000 grant to an eligible nonprofit. Self nominations are accepted. Additional information including guidelines and a list of the 45 eligible markets is available on the Web site.
