Description

The Organization’s Cary New Music Performance Fund is designed to support new music activity by small-budget, grassroots, and emerging organizations whose opportunities for composers are a valuable contribution to the total arts community. The program provides general operating support to music organizations, which demonstrate excellence in innovative new music programming and in performance of music by living composers. Music organizations with an annual budget of $600,000 or less residing in New York City’s five boroughs are eligible to apply. Organizations must focus primarily or exclusively on new music, including in significant measure the work of living composers, improvisers, sound artists, or singer/songwriters. Organizations may include ensembles, collectives, and non-commercial concert venues or presenters. There are no restrictions on the style or genre of music presented. Organizations must have been in continuous operation for three or more years at the time of application; have a minimum of three years performing or producing events in New York City featuring new music; and have an annual budget of $600,000 or less on average over the last three years. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
