Tiger Woods Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionAs the philanthropic organization set up by pro golfer, Tiger Woods, the Foundation focuses its grantmaking on providing opportunities for underserved youth, ages 8 to 18. Providing access to critical development programs is a Foundation priority. The Foundation awards grants in two areas: education and youth development. Education grants target programs that enhance the learning process for youth. Since public schools aren’t nonprofits, they’re ineligible to apply. Youth development grants fund year-round mentoring and/or tutoring programs. The Foundation will not fund junior golf programs. In 2009, the Foundation will award grants in the following locations: California, Washington D.C., Florida, Maryland, Nevada, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Additional information, including an online worksheet, can be found on the Web site.
