Description

Founded in 1996 by former Walt Disney CEO Michael Eisner and his wife, Jane, the Foundation provides financial support to organizations serving Los Angeles County that address the needs of underserved children and the elderly. The Foundation seeks to provide the children of Los Angeles with the tools they need to attain self-sufficiency and build productive lives. Grants are awarded to programs that develop high-quality public schools, innovative and enriching after-school programs in underserved communities, and those that provide access to the arts, quality health-care options, and new media and technology. Grants for the elderly place a special emphasis on individuals that are especially vulnerable due to poor health or poverty. The Foundation evaluates programs based on their efficiency, effectiveness, exceptional leadership, and expected outcomes. Applicants are asked to submit a letter of inquiry no longer than three pages. Additional information is available on the Web site.
