Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the clothing retailer. It directs financial and volunteer contributions to projects that attempt to improve the quality of life in American Eagle communities. The Foundation supports Jumpstart, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Student Conservation Association, and community initiatives. Community initiatives of particular interest include supporting and mentoring pre-school children, volunteering with kids, and conservation service internships and volunteer opportunities for high school and college students. Applicants and programs must fall within the scope of the Foundation’s mission statement; creatively involve the Company’s business unit and/or employees in the projects; be in a community where the Company does business; and significantly affect the surrounding community. The program or applicant should also be inclusive in policies and practices involving all genders, races, ages, ethnic origins, sexual orientation, or creeds. Organizations must be located in Pittsburgh, New York City, or Ottawa, Kansas. The Foundation also makes small grants to programs throughout the United States and Canada through its Eagles in the Region program. Each year, through Eagles in the Region, all of American Eagle’s 11 regions receives $5,000 per year to allocated to local charity requests in areas where the Company operates. Send a request to the Foundation, attention: Eagles in the Region. Funding guidelines and procedures are available online. Requests are considered quarterly.
