DescriptionThe Foundation focuses its grantmaking on humanistic inquiry and artistic creativity. It seeks to encourage excellence in scholarship, in the performing arts and in research libraries and other institutions, which transmit our cultural heritage. Of particular interest are the quality of dance performances and the study and performance of early music as well as Venetian history and civilization. The Foundation recognizes and supports programs in the humanities, research libraries, and the performing arts in New York City. The Foundation requests that potential grantees submit a letter of inquiry before sending a proposal. No grants will be made for building campaigns and the Foundation generally does not fund indirect costs.
