Jazz For Peace

DescriptionFounded by Rick DellaRatta, the band, Jazz for Peace, received acclaim for their concert at the United Nations on Sept. 25th 2002 which united Israeli, Palestinian and American Jazz musicians. The band conducts benefit concerts for philanthropic purposes. The band solicits funds and provides the staff needed to put on a world-class cultural event/fund-raiser for the purpose of raising funds, creating sponsorships, and forming long-term partnerships with local businesses and major corporations. It also helps in gaining publicity on television, radio, print, and other media forms. Nonprofits with “outstanding” missions that benefit society, community, or the world and who believe they are underfunded or under publicized are invited to apply. Grants are awarded monthly and the deadline is the last day of each month. Supporters include senators Barack Obama, John McCain, actor Ed Begley Jr., and New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
