Welcome to the Learning Institute for Nonprofit Organizations - a
program of The Society For Nonprofit Organizations. The Institute provides
affordable, accessible educational programs for all involved in the nonprofit
sector. These programs feature some of the finest experts in the field,
and have been taught to over 16,000 learners since our founding in 1996.

Excellence Series (Online / Distance
Education)
Focuses on the key result areas of leading and
managing a nonprofit organization. Learners may earn 0.6 Continuing
Education Units (CEUs) per course, awarded by Michigan State University.
Learners who complete all 8 courses may also earn a Certificate of Excellence in
Nonprofit Leadership & Management that is jointly awarded by the Society for Nonprofit Organizations (SNPO) and Michigan State University (Department of Community, Agriculture, Recreation and Resource Studies - CARRS). Courses include the following:

the curriculum of the Excellence Series by offering additional valuable learning

Instructional Design
Every program that is produced by
the Learning Institute includes:
- Nationally recognized faculty members.
- Video case-studies illustrating profiles of excellence in the
nonprofit sector.
- Course materials including practical management tools, an
organizational assessment tool, teaching outline, bibliography, glossary of terms and
other resources.
- Additional assignments allowing participants to earn
a Certificate of Excellence
in Nonprofit Leadership and Management awarded by the Society for
Nonprofit Organizations.
- Complimentary resources including:
articles, FAQ's, and course assignments.
