Description

With the support of Better World Books, the Center’s Library and Families Award supports existing family programming and expanding literacy-building practices of families in library settings. The nominated program must be an existing library program. Grant applicants/recipients must be an urban library, public/academic library, or local Friends of the Library group. Programs will help connect more families to their local libraries and expand their literacy efforts in new and innovative ways. Applications can be submitted online or e-mailed. The Center will award three $10,000 grants this year. One winner will come from urban library applicants, one from public/academic library applicants, and one from a local Friends group. Winners will also receive scholarships to the Center’s 2011 National Conference on Family Literacy. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
