Sea World & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund

DescriptionThe Organization’s Environmental Excellence Awards will recognize the outstanding efforts of students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. The Award provides schools and community groups with a grant, national recognition, and a trip to one of the Organization’s parks. Applicants should be able to demonstrate significant accomplishments have occurred before the deadline. Previous winners have tackled projects such as schoolyard beautification, energy and waste reduction, wildlife protection, natural resource conservation, and habitat restoration. Eight winning groups are selected each year to win $10,000. One environmental educator/leader each year receives $5,000. All K-12 schools (including licensed home schools) are eligible to apply. Community-based projects, such as those managed and operated by community service organizations, public recreation centers, 4-H clubs, and other public nonprofit groups working to protect the environment at the grassroots level are also eligible. Judges will review applications for project goals, objectives, and accomplishments; project support/recognition; impact on students, school, community, and the environment. Judges will also review the proposed use of the award money and the level of student/volunteer/citizen involvement and initiative. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
