Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Wells Fargo Bank. Its mission is to provide sustainable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income people by offering volunteer and financial resources to local and national nonprofit housing organizations. Funding areas of interest include construction/rehab; education, counseling, and prevention; subsidies; and home repairs. Construction/rehab grants support the development and pre-development of construction or rehabilitation of owner-occupied homes. Education, counseling, and prevention grants target homebuyer education, pre- and post-purchase counseling, and foreclosure prevention. Subsidies are awarded for down payment and closing costs, interest rate buy downs, and other subsidies that assist homebuyers/homeowners in purchasing or retaining their homes. Home repair grants are awarded for essential home repairs, purchases, and modifications. The project/program must serve owner-occupied, low- to moderate-income homebuyers only and the organization must have no current operating deficits. Additional information including a list of charitable giving managers is available on the Web site. The Foundation accepts proposals three times during the calendar year, February, May, and August.
