Description

The Foundation’s mission emphasizes global investment and serving as a catalyst for positive change in communities around the world. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on four areas: educational programs, disaster, community, and medical relief. Emphasis is placed on programs that serve the needs of people in communities where employees of Flextronics, and its suppliers and customers live and work. Community responsibility grants “aid, enrich, engage, educate and empower” the communities where Flextronics, its employees, customers, and business partners live and work. Disaster relief grants provide aid to relieve human suffering that may be caused by a natural or civil disaster or an emergency hardship. Medical relief/health programs support specific local health programs and organizations in Flextronics communities. Educational grants are earmarked for programs that benefit students with socioeconomic issues, learning disabilities, or handicaps. The Foundation also supports academic programs related to electronics manufacturing and those serving disadvantaged or underserved students. Asia and Europe applications are evaluated as they are received. In the Americas, applications are evaluated on a quarterly basis at the end of March, June, September, and December of each year. An application is available online.
