Description

Established in 1936 as The Lisle Fellowship in upstate New York, the first intercultural education program for American and international students, the Organization promotes grassroots educational initiatives that purposefully foster intercultural understanding and leadership, tolerance, youth engagement, and improved relations among communities in conflict. The Organization's Global Seed Grants Program supports innovative projects that advance intercultural understanding through shared experiences and those that create a more just social order. Projects may seek to bridge various community divides, including ethnic, cultural religious, racial, or gender perspectives. The Organization supports new projects that have not been implemented before and have the potential to grow. It also prefers to be a significant donor on a well-defined intercultural project that small and young organizations propose. Grants are awarded to projects in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Projects must be reviewed and sponsored by a Lisle Mentor. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
