Sphinx Venture Fund

Category

: Music

Description

The Fund was created by Aaron P. Dworkin, an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theater & Dance as an offshoot of Dworkin's Sphinx Competition. The Competition provided competitive performance opportunities for the most talented young Black and Latinx string musicians in the country with the goal to increase representation in professional orchestras. The Fund provides grants to individuals or organizations for initiatives designed to solve a challenge or an issue related to diversity, equality, and inclusion in the performing arts with a strong emphasis on classical music. Grants focus on new and innovative solutions that can have a transformative impact for the entire field, go beyond a single geographic area, and involve more than one partner. Additional information including application instructions can be found on the Web site.
