Description

The Collective works to build the collective power of Indigenous Peoples, communities, and Nations to exercise the inherent right to self-determination while fostering a world that is built on a foundation of justice and equity for all people and the planet. The Collective's Community Action Fund awards modest, urgent response grants that seek to move money into the movement space to help further Indigenous Peoples' agendas related to the defense, development, and decolonization of its peoples and Mother Earth. The Collective prioritizes frontline, grassroots, and community-based efforts that defend the Indigenous people, communities, and nations against negative resource extraction that poisons their people, pollutes the water, destroys the land, contributes to climate change, and violates human rights. Grants are awarded across the United States, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions.
