Description

The Fund, a philanthropic program of GRID Alternatives, was developed to provide tribes with access to philanthropic capital through a competitive grant program. The Fund partners with tribes and tribal individuals as a tribal-led program to support renewable energy and job training programs. The Fund's Tribal Energy Plan Grant is intended to help tribal communities quickly and efficiently triage the known practical and impactful strategies to reduce greenhouse gas, reduce energy costs, and operate more sustainably. Grants focus on building renewable energy infrastructure, energy leadership, educational scholarships, workforce development, and training. Eligible applicants include federal and tribal governments in the lower 48 states and Alaska and tribal-led nonprofits with direct ties to the tribal community. Grants are awarded until funding is fully subscribed. Visit the Web site for application instructions and additional information.
