Description

Launched by the Foundation in partnership with RMI and Environment and Culture Partners, the Frankenthaler Climate Initiative is a national grantmaking program that aims to address climate change through cultural institutions. Grants are awarded to cultural institutions located in the U.S. or its territories that have visual arts as a key part of their mission. The Initiative funds energy efficiency and clean energy generation projects in the following categories: Scoping Grants help museums understand the climate and energy mitigation opportunities in their facilities; Technical Assistance Grants support the specification and budgeting of an identified efficiency project to allow for procurement and financing; Implementation Grants provide partial seed funding for fully specified projects. Scoping Grants range from $10,000 to $25,000; Technical Assistance Grants range from $25,000 to $50,000 and Implementation Grants range from $50,000 to $100,000. Institutions of all sizes with visual arts as a key part of their mission and programming are encouraged to apply. Visit the Web site for additional information and application instructions that include submitting a letter of interest prior to submitting a full proposal.
