Description

The Endowment’s Digital Humanities Start-Up Grants Program is designed to encourage scholars with new ideas to get their digital humanities projects into the public square. Grants are awarded for the planning or initial stages of digital humanities initiatives in all areas of the Endowment’s interest: research, publication, preservation, access, teacher training, and dissemination. Endowment staff will work with potential applicants in the pre-application stages to help them craft their submissions. Applications should describe the concept or problem being addressed; the plan of work; project team experience as it relates to the plan; and intended outcomes of both the project and the grant. Eligible applicants are U.S. nonprofit organizations or institutions; state and local governmental agencies and Native American tribal organizations; and U.S. citizens or foreign nationals who have been living in the U.S. for at least three years immediately prior to the application deadline. Those affiliated with an eligible institution must apply through an institution; adjunct faculty may apply as individuals. Additional information and application procedures can be found online.
