The Leary Firefighters Foundation
Category: Community
DescriptionThe Foundation was established by actor Denis Leary in response to a tragic fire in Worcester, Mass., that claimed the lives of his cousin, a childhood friend, and four other brave firefighters. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on funding equipment, education, training, and technology for firefighters nationwide. The Foundation's Jeremiah Lucey grant Program supports paid and volunteer fire departments throughout the country in three areas: training, equipment, and technology. Training grants seek to enhance the professional development of departments. Equipment grants seek to provide firefighters with the best equipment to help keep firefighters and the communities they serve safe. Technology grants seek to ensure that fire departments continue to update themselves with technological advances. An online letter of inquiry form as well as additional information can be found on the Web site.
