Category

: Animals & Wildlife

Description

The Foundation supports individuals and organizations devoted to perpetuating the world's diversity of species and their habitats as well as those that engage children and adults in nature to learn bout and witness the wonders of wildlife. Grants are awarded in two areas: Children in Nature and Applied Conservation. Children in Nature grants support programs that must take place in the natural environment and focus on providing opportunities for children to explore nature. Preference is given to projects connected children to lesser recognized species or habitats and those that provide children with unstructured or minimally structured time in nature. Applied Conservation grants support qualified projects that focus on free-ranging wildlife or plant species and support the conservation of the species in their natural habitats. Preference is given to projects focused on lesser-recognized species. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
