Description

The Foundation supports organizations with the strength and commitment to address persistent problems of urban Chicago resulting from poverty, violence, ignorance, and despair. The Foundation seeks to build the capacity of individuals and the systems that serve them. Grants are awarded in the following areas: arts learning, education, employment, and health. Arts Learning grants seek to improve the quality and expand the availability of arts education programs. Education grants seek to increase the academic achievement of low-income students in Chicago’s public schools. Employment grants support job training programs to help individuals and families move out of poverty. Health grants strive to improve access to care for Chicago’s low-income residents. The Foundation gives priority for funding requests for specific projects rather than general operating support. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
