DescriptionThe Foundation’s Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute is dedicated to improving the scope and overall quality of investigative reporting in the independent press and beyond. The Fund seeks out reporting on important stories likely to be bypassed by the mainstream media and stories with the potential to have social impact. Priority is given to stories that fill a gap in mainstream reporting or that have the potential for impact will be the strongest contenders. To qualify, stories must appear in U.S. media outlets. Both freelancers and those employed by traditional media outlets are eligible to apply. Application directions and additional information can be found on the Web site.
