Description

The Foundation seeks to help individuals and organizations with an exceptional talent for helping young people in Washington and Oregon feel alive through rhythm as expressed in music and dance. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on nonprofit music and dance organizations for ongoing skill building, working with children under 18 (the younger the better), teaming experts and non-experts, working toward synchrony and inclusion, overcoming barriers related to race and class, building community, linking diverse groups and creating a ripple effect, involving mentor, and/or creating foot-stomping public performances in a party-like atmosphere. The Foundation does not fund professional performances where students are the audience, programs for religious purposes, or theatrical productions without a commitment to joyful rhythm and movement. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
