Description

The Financial Group invites submissions for its annual Lincoln’s Legacy Award, which recognizes and invests in nonprofits whose principles and programs advance President Abraham Lincoln’s legacy of freedom and opportunity through education. A $50,000 grant will be awarded to nonprofits whose programs aim to boost high school graduation rates and college preparedness through mentoring, tutoring, technology training, and college readiness programs. Ten applicants will be selected as finalists to advance to the public voting stage of the competition where individuals 13 years and older can cast their votes on Facebook or the Lincoln Legacy Web site. Eligible applicants must be a nonprofit public charity and have annual operating expenses of at least $750,000. Eligible applicants cannot be located in cities served by the Lincoln Financial Foundation including Concord, NH; Fort Wayne, IN; Greensboro, NC; Hartford, CT; Omaha, NE, or Philadelphia, PA.
