Description

The Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the retail store, and its FREE initiative, directs financial and volunteer contributions toward projects that try to improve the quality of life in American Eagle communities. The Foundation funds teen and college student programs that contain one or more of the FREE values: Foster civic engagement; Render safe and nourishing places for teens; Embrace diversity; and Encourage youth/teen development. Applicants and programs must fall within the scope of the Foundation’s mission statement. They must also creatively involve AE business units and/or employees; provide regular reports of financial and program activities; direct at least 70 percent of the money raised toward beneficiaries; and be in a community where AE operates a business. In addition, the programs must significantly affect the surrounding community and be inclusive in policies and practices. Funding guidelines and procedures are available online.
