DescriptionThe Bank’s philanthropic arm works to create economically vibrant communities that are better places in which to do business. Grants address immediate needs vital to the health of the communities the Bank serves through a focus on preserving neighborhoods, educating the workforce for 21st century jobs, and addressing basic human services such as hunger. In order to create longer-term solutions, the Foundation supports services and programs that enhance financial stability and create better money habits. In 2015 the Foundation will issue three requests for proposals on the priority focus areas of Jobs: specifically workforce development and education (application period is open Jan. 20 through Feb. 12); housing: specifically community development (application period is open April 20 to May 8) and hunger: specifically basic human services (application period is open July 20 to Aug. 7). Grants are provided to nonprofits that serve specific metropolitan areas in the states of Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Washington as well as organizations that serve Washington, D.C.
