Description

The Foundation takes a village approach to its grantmaking, paying attention to community needs, community-based organizations, and community leadership around the world. Founded in 2005 by Ken deLaski, co-founder of the Deltek Company, a software company, the Foundation makes philanthropic investments to help individual communities throughout the world. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on water quality, education, agricultural improvements, food security, arts and cultural activities, economic development, and health and well being. Priority is given to community projects that are integrated and that can be scaled up as opportunities arise. The Foundation’s goal is to achieve results that are measurable and long-term to improve individual lives. The Foundation works in 15 countries in Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the United States. The Foundation also has a separate grantmaking focus on Portland, Oregon, where it funds programs that support child and youth development and arts education for youth.
