Description

The Foundation is a private, independent foundation created from the estate of the late William G. Gilmore, the CEO of Gilmore Steel Corporation. The Foundation supports academic enrichment for young people; support services for the disabled; and food, shelter, counseling, and arts programs. Organizations in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties in California, and the state of Oregon are eligible to apply. Bay Area organizations may submit applications through the Foundation’s online grants management platform. Oregon organizations should not send letters of inquiry or any other materials to the Foundation. Board trustees will personally invite eligible organizations to apply. Organizations who have not received funding in the past 12 months or who are new to the Foundation must submit a letter of intent found on the Web site. The Foundation’s trustees meet twice a year in June and December to approve grants.
