Description

12/01/9999
The Project’s Celebrating Solutions Awards program annually honors innovative U.S. programs that demonstration promise in ending the generational cycle of domestic violence. Established in 2000 in memory of Byron, whose tragic murder led to the creation of automated crime victim notification technologies, the Project cultivates and supports efforts that extend beyond crisis management to attack the root causes of this epidemic and to help build safer, healthier communities. The $10,000 awards are designed to honor programs that can serve as national models. The awards are for accomplishments, not grants for future projects. Award winning programs must address the issue of domestic violence. They should be replicable or, if national in scope, have applications for individual communities. The program must be part of a nonprofit or government agency and both the program and organization must have been in operation for at least three years. Additional information including program guidelines and a nomination form can be found on the Web site.
