Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation

Category

: Music

Description

The Foundation, inspired by the motion picture of the same name, is committed to the future of music education. The Foundation provides grants under three programs: the Melody Program, which helps K-12 music programs that take place during the regular school day; the Special Projects Program, which assists after-school music programs; and the Michael Kamen Solo Award, which helps outstanding student musicians who cannot afford to obtain an appropriate instrument. (The Kamen Solo Award is now closed until further notice.) All applicants must submit a pre-qualification form. If the program meets guidelines, applicants are asked to apply for a grant. Qualification details and additional information can be found on the Web site. The date is when the next round of the pre-qualification online form will be available.
