Category: Arts & Culture
DescriptionThe Foundation supports individuals and institutions committed to advancing the understanding and preservation of the visual arts locally and throughout the world. Through its grantmaking, the Foundation seeks to strengthen art history as a global discipline, promote the interdisciplinary practice of conservation, increase access to museum and archival collections, and develop current and future leaders in the visual arts. With its access to museum and archival collection grants, the Foundation is interested in emphasizing digital access and projects that involve collaboration with multiple institutions. Grants under the category of art history as a global discipline seek to strengthen art historical scholarship and to provide opportunities for sustained international scholarly exchanges. Advancing conservation practice grants promote the interdisciplinary practice of conservation by supporting projects that foster collaboration between conservators, art historians, conservation scientists, and other heritage professionals. Leadership and professional development grants fund professional development opportunities for individuals at various stages of their careers. Additional information including current funding priorities in each of the categories can be found on the Web site.
