Description

The Foundation’s mission is to promote healthy lifestyles and the delivery of quality care it its communities. The Foundation is committed to funding Healthy Aging programs for adults ages 60 and older in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Through the funding programs, the Foundation hopes to elevate the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of older adults; enable them to contribute their experiences and knowledge to their communities; and ultimately, help older adults live longer, healthier lives. The Foundation makes grants in three areas: vibrant lifestyles, intergenerational collaboration, and keeping our seniors safe. Vibrant lifestyles grants support programs and initiatives that lead to better physical health; improved cognitive and mental health; increased social, civic, and/or community engagement; decreased isolation and depression; prevention, delay, or better management of chronic illnesses; and a higher quality of, and satisfaction with, life. Intergenerational collaboration grants create meaningful relationships with young people; forge a stronger link to, and greater involvement in, their communities; decrease social isolation and depression; improve cognitive fitness; transfer experience, knowledge, and skills as well as support the acquisition of new knowledge and skills; and improve life satisfaction, and/or improve health outcomes. Keeping Our Seniors Safe grants emphasize fall prevention and support for family and other informal caregivers. Letters of inquiry are required. Only invited applicants will be allowed to submit full proposals. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
