The Waise Foundation

DescriptionThe Foundation provides support in four areas of health care: schizophrenia, arthritis, cancer, and children’s medical health issues. Grants for schizophrenia support organizations that provide care, treatment, and programming for individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. Occasionally the Foundation supports research seeking cures, treatment, and understanding of the illness. Arthritis grants support organizations that provide care, treatment, and programming for children and adults diagnosed with arthritis as well as associated research. Cancer grants support organizations that provide care, treatment, and programming for individuals living with cancer. Grants for children’s medical health issues support research of serious childhood diseases. Under this category the Foundation also funds organizations that provide care, treatment, and programming for children with severe childhood medical and/or disabling conditions. The Foundation primarily awards grants to organizations located within the state of Minnesota and three counties of South Florida (Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade) but will make exceptions for organizations in other states that fit the Foundation’s guidelines. Initial contact with the Foundation should be made by telephone. Proposals are by invitation only. There are no set application deadlines. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
