Description

The Foundation, created in 1979 from a bequest from the estate of Charlotte W. Newcombe, supports students pursuing degrees in higher education. The Foundation makes grants to universities, colleges, and one major foundation partner, who select recipients and distribute Newcombe awards. The awards include the Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships; the Newcombe Scholarships for Mature Women Students; the Newcombe Scholarships for Students with Disabilities; and Special Scholarship Endowments that support economically disadvantaged students at a select group of institutions. No grants are made to individuals. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
