DescriptionThe Foundation’s mission is to assist people in achieving full economic, civic, and social participation in and for the betterment of their communities. Grants are made only to organizations whose beneficiaries are residents of Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin with priority given to those communities or regions served by Bremer bank communities. In the Twin Cities (Minnesota) area, the Foundation focuses its grantmaking on programs and initiatives to relieve poverty including emergency assistance and longer-term poverty reduction. In other communities, the Foundation awards grants to support programs, initiatives, and partnerships that address immediate concerns and/or long-term strategies. Grants support: program or project development, general operations, organizational effectiveness, civic engagement, capital, challenge/matching grants, and program-related investments. Requests are reviewed six times a year and applications are accepted year-round. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
