Americans For The Arts
Category: Arts & Culture
DescriptionWith 5,000 organizational and individual members and stakeholders, the Organization is focused on three primary goals: fostering an environment in which the arts can thrive and contribute to the creation of more livable communities; generating more public- and private-sector resources for the arts and arts education; and building individual appreciation of the value of the arts. The Organization’s emergency relief fund was established in 2005 to provide timely financial assistance to victims of a major disaster. The objective is to help the victims rebuild the arts in their community. Funds are distributed directly to local arts agencies or other nonprofit arts organizations that provide communitywide services. The money may be used to assist with the organization’s own recovery as well as provide needed services and funding to local nonprofit arts organizations and individual artists. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
