Description

The Organization, a national coalition of bicycle suppliers and retailers, provides grants to United States organizations and agencies committed to “putting more people on bicycles more often.” It funds important and influential projects that leverage federal funding and build momentum for bicycling across the United States. Projects include bike paths, lanes, and routes, as well as bike parks, mountain bike trails, BMX facilities, and large-scale bicycle advocacy initiatives. Grants are not awarded for bicycle recycling projects, repair projects, bicycle rodeos, or earn-a-bike programs. Due to the Organization’s significant investment in the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, it is unable to support local Safe Routes advocacy initiatives at this time. Support letters from the local bicycle industry are the key to a funded proposal. Letters from Bikes Belong members – retailers and suppliers – will strengthen an application. The Organization reviews applications quarterly. It does not accepted mailed or faxed applications. All application materials must be submitted together in the same e-mail message. Additional information including an online application can be found on the Web site. The maximum grant is $10,000.
