Irwin Andrew Porter Foundation

Description

The Foundation seeks projects that foster connections between communities and individuals, create partnerships with multiple organizations, and enable beneficiaries to give as well as to receive. Categories of interest include the arts, education, environment, and social programs. The Foundation also awards grants for international projects. The quality, innovation, thoughtfulness, heart, and effectiveness of a project are more important to the Foundation than the interest area. Funding for United States-based projects is limited to the following states: Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and North Dakota. International projects are not geographically restricted. All organizations, whether based in the United States or abroad, must be incorporated in the United States to be eligible for funding. Requests for funds are accepted year-round, but applications deadlines are the second Friday in October for a December review and the second Friday in April for a June review.
