DescriptionThe Foundation’s “Make It Matter” initiative supports individuals making an “extraordinary contribution” to a community. Over 10 months, Reader’s Digest magazine will profile an individual who has made a significant contribution to his/her community in a new column called “Make It Matter” and based on the individual’s actions, the Foundation will make a $100,000 donation in the person’s name to a relevant charity. The Foundation will donate a total of $1 million to charities based on inspiring stories. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout 2008.
