Marijuana Policy Project
Category: Health
DescriptionThe Project supports efforts that foster measurable changes in U.S. public policy leading to marijuana being regulated similarly to alcohol. It is also interested in the drug’s availability for medical use. The Project focuses its efforts on two tracks: legalizing medical marijuana and marijuana regulation, the latter through taxes and laws. To achieve its vision, the Project seeks to increase public support for marijuana regulation; identify and activate supporters of both medical marijuana legalization and marijuana regulation; change state laws to legalize and/or regulate the drug; and increase the credibility of marijuana policy reform on Capitol Hill. Applicants are asked to send letters of inquiry up to seven days prior to a grant application deadline. Letters will be accepted via e-mail, fax, express carrier, or U.S. mail. All inquiries must clearly and convincingly communicate how the proposed project will measurably advance marijuana policy reform in the United States. Grant deadlines are May 1, 2008, Sept. 1, 2008 and January 1, 2009. Additional information is available on the Web site
