Mayday Fund
Category: General
DescriptionThe Fund is dedicated to alleviating the incidence, degree, and consequence of human physical pain. Established in 1992 to further Shirley Steinman Katzenbach’s commitment to social and medical causes, trustees adopted her special interest in the treatment of pain as the Fund’s mission. The Fund’s current interests include projects that result in clinical interventions to reduce the toll of physical pain, pediatric pain, pain in non-verbal populations, and pain in the context of emergency medicine. The Fund will continue to be proactive in its commitment to promote networking between veterinary and human medicine. There are no deadlines. The Fund concentrates its grantmaking in the United States although it has awarded some grants to Canadian organizations. New applicants are asked to e-mail Christina Spellman, the executive director, before initiating mail or phone contacts.
