Marine Turtle Conservation Fund

Category

: Environment

Description

The Fund supports projects that promote the conservation of marine turtles. Projects of interest include those that focus on academic and technical training in the turtles’ conservation and management; applied research on their population and habitats; education and community outreach for the protection of nesting and near shore foraging populations; and the development and execution of management plans. Also of interest are projects that protect nesting females and eggs; strengthen law enforcement capacity and forensics skills; and promote networks, partnerships, and coalitions to assist in the implementation of conventions, treaties, and protocols. Habitat conservation and management and information exchanges to promote international collaboration are also considered. Applicants should be conducting project work directly on populations occurring outside of the United States or research results should have a direct bearing on and benefits for turtle populations outside of the U.S. Additional information is available on the Web site.
